Equifax Failed On So Many Levels

By this point we all know that credit rating company Equifax has suffered one of the largest data breaches in history. The information of 143 Million people has been compromised, likely that information is being auctioned off and transferred to many different groups through the internet's

black market. The implications of this breach are yet to be fully seen. The number nearly means every adult in the U.S. being that the nation has a population of about 320 million. Check out a few of the other mistakes, or poor decisions they made after discovering the breach:

  • They failed to notify consumers in a timely manager, leaving consumers at risk, while executives were able to protect themselves.

  • Top execs, knowing that their stocks would drop, dumped those stocks, this is likely to be investigate by the SEC.

  • They created a easily spoofed website, made from the most basic WordPress template, so many customers were again violated equifaxsecurity2017.com

  • From start to finish Equifax botched this, it will be interesting to see if they will suffer both consumer market consequence and legal consequences.
